I was recently invited to Chaayos for trying out their new monsoon menu. In fact that late evening it was eventually raining and it was the best time to try the new menu. There were hardly any customers since it was 11 pm.

The tasting started with Shaahi chai which I must say is something really new and innovative. It was so thick and creamy that it literally felt like I am drinking a hot chai flavoured lassi. It is a must try if you love experiments with chai.

The interiors of their Parel outlet are exquisite, specially the lighting. The other things that I tried were their open chicken paratha, kulchey with chicken, kashmiri kehwa, my all time favourite God’s chai and the chai condiments. The baarish k pakorey were ultimate food with the hot cup of chai. The other items were interesting and the fact that amazed me was that their small kitchen/counter which had no gas or a stove was serving such a vast menu of food and drinks.

The jalebi was a little disappointing since it was soggy and microwaving it was not the best of the ideas. The other items were really good. The chicken kulcha is no way a replacement for their delicious mutter kulcha. I am not experimenting next time with my favourite mutter kulcha on my next visit to a Chaayos outlet.

In all Chaayos has changed the way India drinks and treats their tea. The monsoon menu is a limited edition. Do go out and try it. They have also started delivering so you can sit at home and enjoy the goodness. Do sign up for their loyalty program!
