After visiting the legendary Sharma ji ki chai outlet in Lucknow, I made sure I visit the sharma ji ki chai shop in Kolkata. This is a small eatery tucked in Sector 1, Salt Lake city.

It’s a very small shop which has fresh pooris, small kachoris, samosas etc being friend fresh right at the entrance. I tried their pooris, kachauris and imarti along with the authentic kulhad wali chai.

The taste is really good though all the offerings were on the oily side. People usually come here for take aways. There is a place to stand and enjoy your meal in the inside and there is a small outdoor seating as well.

The chai was strong, the pooris were hot and crispy, the kachauri was filled with goodness, the pickles were tangy and the sabzi was hot.

One of the best places to enjoy a heavenly bengali breakfast and give a great start to you day, weekend. Must try in Kolkata.
